Kathy Nelson
Upon meeting Kathy for the first time, you will instantly be drawn to her vibrant, upbeat and welcoming personality. A self-professed “people lover” she thrives on human interaction, giving gifts and preparing surprises for people close to her. She treats everyone like family and thrives on taking care of those around her, which shines through in everything she does in both her personal and professional life.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Kathy spent the early part of her career building and running a successful woodworking business, “Simply Sawdust.” It is important to note this was during a time when female owned business were rare, and is a huge testament to Kathy’s work ethic and drive. Kathy always keeps her core values of hard work, honesty, integrity and positivity at the center of everything she does.
Kathy transitioned her efforts into real estate in 1992, and found it to be a perfect fit for her passion to help people. She has been highly successful during her real estate career, consistently meeting and exceeding her client’s expectations both during the transaction and after. Read any client’s feedback about their experience with Kathy and you will realize that they recognize what an integral part she is to their pursuit of their real estate and lifestyle goals. Whether you are buying or selling your first condo or downsizing from your forever home, Kathy gives each client the same level of service and attention. Her high client retention rates are a testament to her success.
Real Estate has also provided an outlet for Kathy’s creativity and eye for design. Kathy has the gift of being able to walk into a home and see past the 10-20-30 years of personal items that have accumulated there and know immediately what needs to be done to highlight the best features of the home. She demystifies and streamlines the staging process for her clients with recommendations that use the client’s own items to present a home in its best light. At the end of it, the client saves money and stress that can go along with professional staging – and maximizes their profit potential.
Since Kathy’s clients always turn into friends….and since she works with her family, Kathy’s personal and professional life definitely blend into one another. But when she does step away from work Kathy enjoys entertaining, cooking, serving her community and her church through her volunteer work. Kathy recently purchased the 5-acre building site of her family farm that she grew up on in rural Minnesota and has plans to renovate it to be a vacation destination for her family for generations to come. No sign of this gal slowing down anytime soon!
